Week of 1/28/19

It is going to be another cold one this week, but that’s not stopping us from finishing our reading unit with a test on Friday and starting a new science unit! We also have a 1/2 day this Wednesday. Read on below to learn more about our week and what’s going on in Room 208.

We wrap up Benchmark Unit 6 this week. Students are reading literature, while making inferences, citing text evidence, determining theme, and comparing/contrasting. The final unit assessment will be administered this Friday.

We continue to work on our memoirs. This week, students will be drafting their vignettes while also learning how to improve their sentence fluency.

Social Studies:

We continue our unit on Ancient China this week. We are in chapter 23, learning about the Han Dynasty and the many achievements that happened during this “golden age” of China.

The class will start a new science unit with Mrs. Herrera this week on Earth’s Systems.

Our SEL units for the month focus on culture, perspective, empathy, and bullying.
