Week of 2/4/19

We’re back! It seems crazy that we only had one day of school last week, but the cold snap has passed and we’re ready to learn. We will starting a new science unit, finishing our reading unit, and attending the 4th grade musical this week. Read on below to learn more about our week and what’s going on in Room 208.

We wrap up Benchmark Unit 6 this week. Students are reading literature, while making inferences, citing text evidence, determining theme, and comparing/contrasting. The final unit assessment will be administered this Friday.

We continue to work on our memoirs. This week, students will be drafting their vignettes while also learning how to improve their sentence fluency.

Social Studies:

We continue our unit on Ancient China this week. We are wrapping up chapter 23 about the Han Dynasty and the many achievements that happened during this “golden age” of China.

The class will start a new science unit with Mrs. Herrera this week on Earth’s Systems.

Our SEL unit for the month focuses on ownership and responsibility.
