Halloween is just around the corner! We plan to have our annual Halloween Parade outside as usual.  The parade and classroom fun will take place the afternoon of Thursday, October 31.  Once again, our amazing classroom teachers and support staff have already  begun to plan many fun activities for our students to participate in to create moments for our students to remember.

Should you wish that your child not participate, please inform their classroom teacher by Monday, October 28 and we will have alternate activities planned.

As a reminder, no food items will be served during our classroom parties.  Please see below for timeline of the afternoon:

1:15 – 1:45         Parade outdoors (weather permitting)
1:45 – 2 :45      Classroom fun
2:45 – 3:00      Classroom Clean-up & preparation for the end of the day
3:00                 Dismissal

Please note that participation and/or costumes are completely optional. Should your child choose to wear a costume, we ask that you be especially thoughtful in creating costumes which will be worn at school. Costumes can be worn to school or should be something that can easily be put on over clothing by your child with no or minimal assistance.  Please keep in mind that the District 54 School Board has a policy which prohibits weapons or look-alike weapons at school.  In choosing an appropriate costume for your child to wear at school, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No fake blood, gore, scary costumes or costumes depicting violence

  • No weapons or “look-alikes” of any kind (squirt guns, chains, whips, plastic swords, etc.)

  • Ensure that costumes are appropriate and inoffensive to all ages at our school

  • Be certain that your child can see through any mask or head covering|

We thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
