Collins Cares

This club is geared towards 3rd grade students who are interested in doing meaningful projects for the school and our community! This club is sponsored by Mrs. Melbourn and Ms. Kuhn.

Collins Cares meets on Thursday 7:55 AM on the following dates: 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11

Lego Club

Students can start their morning in a fun and creative way while working with others. We will be building, playing and strengthening their fine motor skills using legos. This club is sponsored by Mrs. Mills

Lego Club meets on Wednesday 7:45 AM on the following dates: 

10/1,10/8, 10/15,10/22,10/29,11/5, 11/12,11/19

Multicultural Club

The goal of our club is to spotlight all of the amazing cultures around the world. This 5th and 6th grade club will create meaningful projects that revolve around several different culture’s traditions and holidays. We are so lucky to learn and grow in a diverse community here at Collins. This club is sponsored by Ms. Kuhn and Mrs. Cosentino.

Battle of the Books

Do you love to read? Do you enjoy friendly competition?

Join Battle of the Books! This club is for 3rd-4th graders and sponsored by Ms. Gummerson 

Games Club

Calling all 5th and 6th graders who love to play games and have fun! Join our brand-new Game Club, where students can relax, connect with friends, and enjoy a wide variety of games. From classic board games to teamwork challenges and active games outside. Game Club is all about fun, friendship, and fair play. It’s a great way for students to build social skills, practice cooperation, and unwind after a school day. With Mrs. Cosentino and Ms. Nordbrock

Get ready for some fun in the Math Club! We’ll explore the world of numbers, shapes, and puzzles in a way that’s fun and easy to understand. you’ll discover how awesome math can be! Whether you’re adding, subtracting, or finding hidden patterns, there’s always something new to learn. Come join the adventure and become a math superstar!

Running Club

Calling all 4th-6th grade students who are interested in boosting your health and having a great time with friends and teachers. Come join Running Club! We digitally track our miles and try to earn individual and group milestones in this year long club. You can join either Tuesday or Thursday mornings at 7:40 a.m. We look forward to seeing you in club!

Wake up and read

Here’s a relaxing way to start your day! Come to school before the morning rush and chill out with friends and a good book.  You can choose from my classroom library or bring a book from home. Feel free to bring your breakfast as well.

 **Please note if your child has any food allergies, there is a possibility of food being eaten during this club.

Yoga Club

Come wake up and energize in the morning with Yoga club! We will learn new yoga poses and practice mindfulness strategies to kick off our day!

Creative Writing Club

Calling all 3rd Graders. Does your child enjoy writing and creating stories? Join Mrs. Gladstone and Mrs. Melbourn in Creative Writing Club. Students will show their creativity through a variety of fun writing prompts and activities.

Doodle, Draw and Design

Does your 2nd grader love to doodle, design, and draw? Then this club is for them! Students will use their creativity to explore art in a fun way. This club is sponsored by Mrs. Melbourn and Ms. Lejman.

Monarch Mosaics

Students in grades 4 through 6, who attend this club, will actively participate in creating a beautiful Monarch mosaic masterpiece. If your child loves Monarch butterflies and would like to participate in a group art project that will hang proudly in the hallway of Collins Elementary School, this club is the PERFECT choice! This club is sponsored by Ms. Savino and Mrs. Shanahan.

Rocketry

🚀 Join the Rocketry Club! 🚀
Attention all 4th–6th grade students!

Do you love science, building things, and exploring space? Are you curious about how rockets work? If so, the Rocketry Club is the perfect place for you!

In this hands-on STEM-like club, you’ll build your own rockets—starting with breath-powered models and working your way up to a rocket that will blast off at the District 54 Rocket Launch at the end of the school year! You’ll get to design it, decorate it, and even name it yourself!

🛠️ What You’ll Do:

  • Learn real-world STEM skills
  • Build your own rocket
  • Get creative with your own rocket design
  • Have fun with friends who love science and space as much as you do!

📅 Club Details:

  • Two sessions for Fall
  • Meets on Tuesdays OR Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 PM (if selected)

Rube Goldberg/Chain Reaction

Chain Reaction is a 5th and 6th grade STEM club. Over the course of the club the students will create a chain reaction machine designed to accomplish a specific task. In February they will present their machine at the Chain Reaction Competition. During the competition the students will have the opportunity to showcase their collaboration and hard work. This club requires an additional application that will be handed out in paper form to be filled out by the student after interest is expressed via the club interest form as there are only 10 spots available on the team.

The dates are 9/29,  10/6, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17 with a concert performance on 11/20.
