First Day of School for 1st-6th Grades - Monday, August 17 On Monday, August 17, our first day only, students will line up outside between 8:15 AM and 8:40 AM with their classmates and teachers. We have attached the map for your reference (see map below). Support staff will be available to direct/escort students that may be getting off a bus or unsure of where to go for the first day. We ask that you say good-bye to your child in line or at the school doors. Only students will enter the building, even on the first day of school. Several staff members will be on hand to assist any children that are unsure of where to go both outside and inside the building. The school day begins at 8:40 AM and will dismiss at our regular time of 3:00 PM. Please note that our new kindergarteners will start school on Monday, August 24. |
It is of the utmost importance that we provide a safe and efficient process for both arrival and dismissal. We appreciate your cooperation and we thank you for helping out by doing your part in keeping our students safe on their way to and from school. Please speak to your child(ren) prior to the start of the school day about how they are getting home each day. Consider choosing a meeting spot away from the school doors for you and your child(ren) to assist in avoiding any confusion at the end of the day. Our sidewalks and exits get extremely congested if everyone attempts to meet near the building. Our School Parking Lot Arrival/Dismissal

Parking Lot Drop-Off Procedure
Please be aware, on both sides of Summit, from just before the crossing guard at Langley to the corner of Greenhill there are “No Stopping, No Standing” signs posted. The Schaumburg Police Department has ticketed families who pulled over to drop a student off. Tickets have been issued for parking too close to a crosswalk. You must be 20 feet away from a crosswalk and 30 feet from an intersection. Please consider allowing a few extra minutes to your drop off/pick up routine to alleviate any rushing. Respecting the rules and the people who are enforcing them will create the safe environment we all desire. Your support will make all the difference. Our entire support staff will be out the first week to help guide the children to their classrooms. Please let your children know that they can stop and ask an adult if they need any help. |
