Good afternoon Collins Community,

As we enter Thanksgiving week, we wanted to express our gratitude for your partnership with your student’s learning. We wanted to give families a chance to share a gratitude for their student and our school. While you are here for conferences, you will notice tree posters throughout the hallways. We hope that while you are here you take a moment to jot down a gratitude.  Simply take a leaf from the desk in front of the tree posters, share a gratitude and add it to the tree. Let’s fill the hallways with all we are thankful for!  You will also see KIND posters around the school missing the letter “i”.  We hope you take the photo op and be the “i” in Kind!

This week was American Education Week.  We have many reasons to celebrate here at Collins.  We have a team of dedicated educators and an extremely engaged and supportive parent community. We are grateful for your continued commitment and partnership in creating an incredible environment to learn, grow and have fun.

On Wednesday, we celebrated our two staff members that won our 2024 Blue Apple Award. Mrs. Agnes Chmielewski and Mrs. Christine Ruhl were both nominated by their colleagues for outstanding work and dedication to our school community. Agnes serves as one of our amazing multilingual resource teachers and Christine is a fantastic paraprofessional. Both ladies place students first and go above and beyond to support all of our students and staff. Congratulations Agnes and Christine. We appreciate you!

During the month of November, we have been celebrating the kindergarten classrooms as our grade level of the month. You can learn facts about our spectacular Kinders on the Collins Website. In December, we will be highlighting our 5th graders. Be sure to check back to see their fun facts.

On behalf of the entire Collins Staff, we want to wish those of you that celebrate, a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We hope that you enjoy the time off with family and friends. There is no school next week (November 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29) for conferences and the Thanksgiving Holiday.

You can review your conference times/locations and join Zoom meetings by logging back into your PTC Wizard account
